Ephesians 2:8-9 (Bible RSV)
8 – For by GRACE* you have been saved through faith: and this is not your own doing, it is the GIFT of God- 9 – Not because of works, lest any man should boast.
(*GRACE is the love and mercy given to us by God because God desires us to have it, not necessarily because of anything we have done to earn it. One can not earn the GIFT by doing unlimited good deeds. Therefore, one cannot brag they did more than others to earn it; – everyone is on a level playing field. One just needs to accept the GIFT From God and serve God’s Will. *GRACE is a free gift!)
